10 Things We’re Loving in August

10 things we're loving in august

From enjoying local outdoor activities to the summer Olympics, here are 10 things we’re loving in August:

  1. TED X Wilmington takes place on Wednesday, August 24th with a great list of speakers. Our client, Karissa Thacker will discussing topics from her latest book The Art of Authenticity including authentic leadership, transforming your career and more.
  2. The countdown to this summer’s Olympics is on! The opening ceremonies begin on August 5th and our client, Jill Martin will be there covering all the major moments. Plus, our intern Jordan Sawyer travels abroad in Rio de Janeiro with the University of Delaware. They’ll both be tweeting and posting during their adventures.
  3. New fall fashion begin to hit stores with fresh arrivals. Expect to see major trends like reconstructed denim, cut out shoulders, and dressed up bohemian.
  4. We’re huge Lauren Conrad fans so it’s no surprise that we’re excited for The Hills special on MTV premiering August 2nd.
  5. Third Thursdays in Kennett Square has become one of our favorite summer activities. On August 18th, leisurely stroll through town and enjoy the extended shopping hours at both Houppette and No. 109 Shop.
  6. Nightscape returns to Longwood Gardens from August 3rd to October 29th. Walk the grounds to see new exhibits, hear original music, and more.
  7. If you’re heading to the Delaware beaches be sure to check out Rehoboth’s Beachside Bar and Grill for delicious drinks, dishes, and daily specials. We’re obsessed with their calamari!
  8. On Sunday, August 7th, Philly’s Northern Liberties hosts the 2nd Street Festival to celebrate craft beer, local food vendors, and live music.
  9. Hagley Museum teams up with Dogfish Head and Belin Organic Cafe sliders for a fun summer night of great dining. You can also bike and hike the 3 mile loop around the property, which is usually closed to visitors.
  10. Penns Woods Winery hosts yoga in the vineyard on select Fridays and Sundays now through October. The 60 minute gentle yoga class takes place in the heart of their vineyard followed by a wine tasting and local light bites.
