With the days now noticeably shorter and the nights definitely chillier, we are ready to cozy up by the fire with some mulled apple cider and a good book. Is it just us or does colder weather make reading a little bit more enjoyable? Maybe it’s because we can focus more inside rather than sitting on the beach or maybe we’re just that excited for sweater weather. Regardless, a new season means a new reading list so here is what we’re reading this fall:
1. The Impulse Society– many critics claim this to be the talked about subject of the year. A thought provoking book that explores the pursuit of instant gratification and what it means not only for us as individuals but for our society as a whole.
2. Bohemians: A Graphic Society– this book covers the growth of the bohemian lifestyle that spanned across America and across the atlantic. Bohemians takes a look at the rebellious figures that defined a culture and it includes illustrations by today’s leading comic book artists. We’re already inspired.
3. Love Anthony- from the best selling author and neuroscientist, Lisa Genova, this novel offers a fictional perspective about a boy with autism. He doesn’t speak but he shares his unique experiences with love, joy and what connects us all.
4. The Husband’s Secret- reviews praise how well written this book is and how the author develops each character. It’s set around a mysterious letter written by a husband who intends his wife to open it after his death but she finds it and reads it while he is very much alive.
