Winter temperatures may tempt you to snuggle under a blanket on the couch instead of working out…BUT, the Social Stylate girls have some ideas to keep you moving!
We are big fans of POPSUGAR fitness. This is our go-to site for in home ideas (especially simple weight lifting routines) when treacherous conditions make getting to the gym impossible.
If the sun is out and the roads are clear, going for a run can be refreshing. The key is proper outerwear! Some of our favorites are available at Lululemon, Fabletics and GAPBody. Make sure to cover exposed skin and add a layer of Chapstick to protect your lips.
If being outdoors is not your cup of tea, taking a class at the gym is always a great alternative. Not only does it help to cure cabin fever, it is an opportunity to catch up with friends. Taking Spin or a super popular Barre class is a great cross training option for those stuck in a rut.
What are your favorite winter workouts?
I am a novice when it comes to running…perhaps because I have a love/hate relationship with it! I want to be really fast, go long distances and achieve that mysterious and illustrious “runners high”. As of now, I sweat like a farm animal and rejoice heartily at my self-designated 3.5 mile finish line. I appreciate this post from SparkPeople on 9 effective cross-training routines that will help improve my endurance and desire to run!
What workout are YOU into lately?
Happy Monday! Although we certainly prefer the weekend, Lauren suggested this great blog post to start the work week in a positive light! Sydney is inspired to build the perfect summer wardrobe with help from Because I’m Addicted blog. Carroll is happy with ANYTHING having to do with Wimbledon! And, I am busy searching for quick summer recipes (like this lemon spaghetti) for healthy meals after long days at the pool! Enjoy
Why? Because there are only a few weeks until bikini season! Aaaaaah! Drop to the floor, ladies! Let’s go!
