Marketing Tip Tuesday

marketing tip tuesday- optimize pinterest to increase sales

It’s safe to say that within the past year, purchases made as a result of shared content on Pinterest have increased exponentially. As a result the social media giant announced last week that they will soon allow buyers to directly purchase goods pinned on their site. This is a great opportunity for businesses to expand their network and interact with customers in a new way. Now is the time to optimize your company’s Pinterest account to increase online sales. To do this here are our top three methods:

1. Compelling Visuals: Pinterest is a content sharing community where people collect information, inspirations and search for new ideas. According to the Social Media Examiner, people are more likely to engage with your pins if they are visually compelling and a certain size (about 735 pixels x 1102 pixels).

2. Specific Descriptions: As a business, it is very important to put thought into each pin’s description. Think about it in terms of how you would personally search on Pinterest or Google and go for descriptive yet specific.

3. Complete Setup: Your account should reflect your brand. Meaning the username and profile should correlate with the company’s name with a synopsis about your company, logo and website link. Treat each board the same way; feature a title that’s on brand with appropriate descriptions.
